American Citizenship Day 2024: Date, History, Significance
Every year, American Citizenship Day is observed on March 2 in Puerto Rico to commemorate the day that Puerto Ricans were granted U.S. citizenship in 1917. President Woodrow Wilson signed the Jones-Shafroth Act and granted statutory U.S. citizenship to the residents of Puerto Rico on this day.
